I couldn't believe the amazing value for money we got at this place. The rooms were huge, comfy, and immaculate, with a spacious kitchen and lounge area. The location was perfect, secluded yet easily accessible. The staff went above and beyond, serving us the most delicious breakfasts and making our weekend incredibly special.

The Lake Clarens Guest House was a tranquil retreat, perfect for senior people like me. The charming decoration and cozy ambiance made me feel right at home. I particularly appreciated the comfortable seating areas in the general areas, allowing me to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The hotel's accessibility was also commendable, with easy access to the town square and its shops, restaurants, and activities, making it convenient for senior guests.
I would have liked to see a little more attentiveness from the children working there. Although overall the staff was friendly, I couldn't help but notice a lack of warmth and welcoming attitude during breakfast.

Great way to end our weekend. Clean hotel in a beautiful building close enough to all the shops and restaurants, Free State, and town square. Fully-equipped room with GOOD facilities and very comfy bed.

We recently stayed at a charming guesthouse tucked away in a beautiful setting. The room we had was simply delightful, with antique furniture that added a touch of elegance. We were transported back in time and appreciated the craftsmanship of the pieces. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Despite a power outage, the owner quickly resolved the issue with a generator, ensuring our stay remained enjoyable. The location was also perfect, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this guesthouse for a relaxing getaway.

We loved the beautiful sandstone building with stunning views, friendly staff, and a tasty breakfast. The staff made us feel welcome and even showed love to our dogs. The comfy bed, fantastic heaters, and great food made our stay even more enjoyable. We also appreciated the "at home" touches like arrival fruit, snacks, and chilled soft drinks. The decanter of Sherry was a pleasant surprise for a nightcap.
Felt right at home, no complaints at all.

The hotel area was clean, the room was extremely spacious. Booked a room with exceptionally good views over the lake and up the mountains. The property's location was marvellous and charming, close enough to the Lake to the mountains, the hill from the main Clarens square and the attractions of Clarens. Furthermore, in the town centre.

I recently stayed at Lake Clarens Guest House for a few nights and had a wonderful experience. The location of the hotel is perfect - just a short walk to the shops, restaurants, and activities in town, yet it still maintains a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. The staff, particularly Angela and Nonna, were friendly and ensured that our breakfast was delicious and varied. The cleanliness of the two-bedroom cottage was impressive, and the added touch of having our car washed in the morning was a nice surprise. I highly recommend this hotel for its convenient location, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodations.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Loved the little surprises in our room, like the complimentary snacks and soft drinks. Also appreciated that our car was washed for free every morning. The location was ideal, with beautiful views of the lake and easy access to nearby attractions.
The noise from the geese in the early morning was a bit disruptive, but it did add to the charm in a way. The pricing structure was a bit confusing, with a higher rate for a double room even if only one person stayed.

I had a lovely stay at this guest house, with a beautiful garden overlooking the dam. The location was perfect, as it was close to the centre and I could easily walk to the square. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The staff provided great service and the breakfast was delicious. I also enjoyed the stunning view from my window.
The management could be more present to enhance the overall experience.
